By accessing and using the SIWES Portal platform, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Eligibility
To use this platform, you must:
- Be a registered student in an accredited Nigerian tertiary institution
- Be enrolled in a program requiring SIWES participation
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Have the authority to enter into this agreement
3. User Accounts
Account Creation
You must create an account to use our services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
Account Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to maintain its accuracy.
Account Security
You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.
4. Use of the Platform
Permitted Use
You may use the platform to:
- Register for SIWES programs
- Search and apply for industrial training placements
- Maintain your digital logbook
- Communicate with supervisors and administrators
- Access training resources and documentation
Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Upload malicious code or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform
- Use automated systems to access the platform without permission
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
5. Payment and Fees
Registration Fees
SIWES registration requires payment of applicable fees. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as explicitly stated in our refund policy.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed through secure third-party payment processors (Paystack). You agree to their terms of service and privacy policies.
Payment Disputes
Any payment disputes must be reported within 30 days of the transaction date.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the SIWES Portal, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of SIWES Portal or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.
7. User-Generated Content
Content Ownership
You retain ownership of content you upload (logbook entries, documents). By uploading content, you grant us a license to use, store, and share it as necessary to provide our services.
Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. Content must comply with applicable laws and must not infringe on third-party rights.
8. Platform Availability
We strive to maintain platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SIWES Portal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SIWES Portal from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the platform.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support.
12. Modifications to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria.
